Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental or medical office setting, possess knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations, and have strong administrative and communication skills.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience - Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using electronic scheduling systems (such as Epic or Dentrix) - Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments - Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality - Assist with medical administrative support tasks, such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and timely communication - Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality - Manage patient inquiries and provide accurate information regarding services, procedures, and policies - Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed - Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in medical administration is a plus - Previous experience working in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology is necessary for this role - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (such as Epic or Dentrix) is preferred - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Proficient in using phone systems and handling high call volumes - Ability to maintain professionalism and compassion when dealing with patients - Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records Please note that all positions at our company are paid positions.
