Physician Advisor - Detroit, MI


Tenet Healthcare and Detroit Medical Center have a fantastic opportunity for a Full-timePhysician Advisor in Detroit, MI. This position will be have the ability to cover both our DMC Sinai- Grace and DMC Huron Valley hospitals.



Provides consultation services to the assigned department
consistent with the policies and standard of DMC and sound medical practice.



Performs duties consistent with all applicable accrediting
agencies, third party payor requirements and professional ethics. Works cooperatively with the department
personnel, physicians and other personnel, prepares appropriate documentation
of services provided and participates in assignments from third party payors.



1.Performs concurrent review of medical records for causes which
fail to meet criteria for admission or continued stay.


2.Leadership and involvement in all initiatives and concerns
involving patient safety, quality, and infection control and risk management
and patient service, especially those related to physician issues.


3.Oversight of other Medical Directors at the hospital and
evaluation of their performance in addition to collaboration with the Hospital
Compliance Officer regarding physician issues that involve regulatory
compliance.


4.Leads efforts that will establish the hospital as a top performer
as defined by externally reported measures of performance, e.g. CMS' Value
Based Purchasing Program.


5.Works with physicians and administration to identify key market
drivers and develop plans and strategies to address trends and future business
development efforts.


6.Provides leadership and fosters alignment of physicians and
physician services within the hospital's strategic plan and clinical programs
priorities.


7.Meets with the Medical Staffs of other hospitals to effect ease of
patient transfer and communications between facilities and their Medical
Staffs.


8.Promotes and supports the Medical Staff Ethics Committee.


9.Exercises clinical judgment to over-ride screening criteria and
approve admission or continued stay.


10.Performs all duties and responsibilities required of a physician
in assessing quality and cost effective care in accordance with accepted
medical standards and protocol.


11.Collaborates effectively with department staff, other physicians
and other personnel consistent with professional medical standards.


12.Adheres to all applicable professional, ethical, and legal
standards in the performance of duties.


13.Prepares timely and accurate charts and forms to document services
provided as prescribed by the department.


14.Completes documentation as required by third party payors.


15.Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of
utilization review programs.
Participates in meeting department, fiscal and operational goals.



16.Maintains and enhances professional expertise through a personal
development program of education/organizational activities.





Qualifications:

1.Current licensure as a M.D. or D.O. in the State of Michigan.


2. Meets all qualifications as defined in the Medical Staff by-laws.


3. Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine by the American
Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine by the American Board of Family
Practice.


4. Board certification preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
